Hi Kev, The cummins sounds better with the gear. Yes 210 will push that boat ok. Not sure about the gear ratio that you need though. You could post that on DEBF and get a pretty accurate answer. You need the prop size you have now also. The cummins is heavier than the Yanmar and maybe just a tad higher. Not sure i understand that add for the Yanny. I would guess a used gear would be easier to find the the one for the yanny with bell housing. Do you know what size your prop is and Lh or Rh ?
Ha Ha, not going to get 3 on a keel boat. I talked to dean and he said he dosn't want to sell. You could get maybe close to 2 with the 26 because of the newer designed keel. That aft cut out sections down to a feathered edge give you much more water to the prop for efficiency. Did you go see it yet ?
Hi Keven, that sounds like a good price for that boat. It would be more with a diesel but parts would be more also. Not sure that 21-22 figure is right though. I use to fish a 25' GM with a 350 and would get 1 NM per gallon. It was a nice boat to fish on . He still has it and i think he may sell it. It is not in the condition that one is though. I lost your number in my other phone so you'll have to call me. 207-449-6819.
It's Keven from the other site. I am still looking for a decent lobster hull that I can run offshore and found this GM 26 : http://maine.craigslist.org/boa/5405289388.html
I spoke with the owner yesterday, the put a new Chevy 350 in her last year. He said it might have 200 hrs on it. He also rebuilt the original engine and would throw it in for a few extra bucks. He said he replaced the stuffing box and bearing in the driveline. He rebuilt the transmission as well. His former trade was rebuilding these. He rewired everything while he was at it so everything works. All the hoses are also replaced so no cracked lines.
He said it will do 21-22 knots WOT and cruise at 15 with ease if the bottom is clean. Just looking for your 2 cents as usual. Give me call it you want to chat.
