      hello Paul
where were you parting the main line , I assume at the crimp. Also how much drag do you have cranked up? I have used 700 main line to 400 # for my hangers . I have parted the line but I usually back off drag on multiples.. Also make sure youre not over crimping pieces. When you have multiples and fish go in different direction your line might have tendency to pull back towards the crimp and cut itself. The dropper lines should not be in the water so it is only a matter of the action the squids get , and I find the 400 to swing the most natural.I also only run 5 squids. The bluefins don't seem to mind heavier stuff. Also color could be a huge deal, with natural, green, red and root beer being popular. All this being said , I try to keep a couple of different combinations , length wise and color wise. Depending on the conditions like wave height and wind etc, I can change things up pretty quick.Give me a call if you'd like to chat more.. 203 640 6995..good luck Paul..
