Sorry if I missed them but what kind of speed you seeing with that engine?
Uh, let me guess. 31 kts !! .Post 98.
Old muds got I.T. 31 knots top end. Was turning around 1000 rpms below what I should be getting, so going to get that dialed in. Might raise the engine and inch or so as well. Had a little more than expected cavitation in the turns.
That is a beautiful boat! Keep us posted on how it handles after some time.
jd, if you raise the engine you will get more cavitation/ventilation in the turns. If your anti ventilation plate is fair with your bottom that's as far up as you can go. If it's deeper than the bottom than yes you will get more revs. out of the engine.
Ran the boat from south glastonbury down the CT river to Ningret pond in charlestown ri on saturday. Boat ran awesome. Hoping to try new prop out this weekend. Ran into a some weather when we finally reached the ocean. My dad and i were actually able to stay dry under the doghouse in a pretty heavy rain, until it was down pouring sideways lol. Surprisingly comfortable for what we were in though. Ducked into Niantic and tied up next to my buddy while it passed. Boat was very smooth in the chop that we saw. Will report more on handling once i have her in a bigger sea.
Dock getting a little full lol
Well Done Sir. Great lines
Couple good ones from this weekend. Still working on getting the prop right.
That last picture is great! The boat looks and goes awesome! Congrats man on a job well done!
Thanks Woundup! She really does go good. It was a great feeling first time I had her in 2-3 chop, soft ride.
Stop posting pics please! Your making me want one!
That is a pretty boat. Congrats !
My brother snapped this vid
Looks great... really like the hull color. What is that again?
Thanks guys. Hull color is Epifanes 2 part # 811 grey mist.
Wow awesome boat! Just saw this thread for the first time. Did you build the mast for the lights yourself? It looks great. Very impressed with the running angle of the hull, and performance with a 150. It looks at least 25'.
Thanks for the compliments dux. Yes, I built the light mast out of nidacore.
