Looking real good!
Gelcoat is on the hull
Nice job ! Keep up the good work.
never ends ! looks good
Wow looking real nice. What did you use for the wheelhouse, ply?
Thanks, i used a carbon-core honeycomb laminated panel. Then molded a 1/2 round edge and glassed it into the end of the panel. Came out pretty decent.
All the gelcoat is done and wrapped the boat up today, so i can start laying out plumbing and electrical inside
WOW!!! Great job.
That boat is going to be just right when you are done with it. Not too fancy and not too crusty, just perfect for everyday use. Keep at it!
Thanks, thats what im shooting for!
I picked up a rocket launcher on the cheap a while back. Pretty rough worn cosmeticly. Muriatic bath, alum primer and some black topside paint brought it back.
I decided the boat will have all black trim and accents, so this will really add on to that
Gorgeous boat and beautiful work. A few questions that you may have addressed and I missed it.
1) Did you spray or roll your gel coat and if you rolled it which rollers did you use?
2) did you have to de-core your cap rails?
Comment: you will love the black trim on the hard ware. We have all powder coated black handrails mast screws ets. It really does look nice and as long as we wash them after each trip they stay looking sharp
Best of luck with the rest of the build
Thank you! I had tried rolling gel several times, but it never came out very well other than none faired areas like the bilge. I cut gel with Duratech and was able to shoot it thru a HF 1.4 gun that way, 3:1. Its not perfect by any stretch and needs a cut n buff, but its ok for me.
The rails are divinycell i believe, when i patched them, i layed FG on the bottom and filled them with composite filler. I would take different advice if i had to do it again and fill it with Divinycell and glass over.
Ive learned so much working on this boat, its had many ups and downs but i wouldnt trade the experience or knowledge gained
Boat looks great, where did you get that exhaust outlet? Looks sharp.
Its a Hardin Marine pc, id like to find scuppers to match, would look slick
