35' sorry for the typo
Needs a lot, but that is the best looking Bruno ever.
So what gives?
I thought Capt. Hinkley bought this one?
Deal fall apart due to survey?
Boat has stick built top, is somewhat taken apart and very wet, we spent several hours poking around the boat there are soft spots in both the plywood and mahogany top. It needs a deck and cabin sole. My opinion is the boat should be in a heated building striped of it coverings, dried out and repaired. In the end I had to back out.
I'm on the look for a 32-34 workboat. Serious thoughts about this...just can't swallow the idea of removing the topsides to make a workboat out of it. In honor of its nice looks and the possibilities of someone making a really nice ride. Spoke with the seller, nice guy.
As hard as we have been looking for a set up like this in our price point. A work boat is horrifying sounding. the hull seems very good. It's everything else that could use some care. Yes capt karl is a very nice guy and very honest with us.
Post up more pics if you have them.
Someone should tell Capt. Karl to change the heading of his add from Project Boat to 35' Bruno and Stillman Project if he wants potential buyers to contact him.
I'm curious how much $ you think it would take to get the boat right?
shit if the motor runs and it has new tanks, slap a new deck and some wiring and drive this bitch til the top falls off for real cheap money. shit anyone want to buy a rigged to the balls 31 duffy . i would love to have a 35ft beater boat
whoever laid out that wheel house deserves a handshake, imho thats one of the nicest proportioned cabins on a bruno I've seen. I wonder if those spray rails were molded into the hull or added on after, don't recall seeing brunos with molded in spray rails, nice fairing job if they were added on. someone had a good eye and good intentions with this one.
Spray rails are from the mold, I agree on the house.
That's the hull from the Bruno Sportcruiser w/ molded spray rails.
The rest of the boat was custom built ( Farrin..I think).
I bought a 35 solid glass bruno for its permits 15 years ago. The engine was junk along with the rest of it. It did have the molded lobster boat top , everything was balsa on the top deck. I stripped it and power washed it pretty much as a kit boat and sold it for 20k. no shaft , no prop,no steering, no motor, no nothing. They are great boats. that boat is still running as a working lobster boat.
anyone have contact info? emailed the ad, nothing back.
anyone have any idea (generally) what the max hp/shaft size/prop size would fit into this without too much modification? would mind increasing shaft dia. but would rather avoid keel mod and or rudder mod.
It has a 1 3/4" shaft albeit it is bronze. A new stainless shaft the same diameter should handle enough power? No?
I think 21x is the biggest diameter prop you'll want to run on a stock Bruno 35. I seem to recall Pugsley has a 22x on his and he said it takes the paint off the hull...
So, who bought it? I hear someone is looking for transport....:-D
I think it has already been modded, that prop looks bigger than a stock Bruno.
Yeah who bought it??
