Boat Maintenance Noob

    Aloha everyone.
    I have a friend who has a commercial fishing boat that has some engine problems and things break on every trip out. I am fairly good with engines on everything I have come across so I was asked to look into the problems. Boats are a new beast for me so I am mainly hoping I can get advise/troubleshoot on the engine problems it has. Is this forum a good place to do so?

    From what I am told it has a Cat 8 engine, I'm assuming its the C8.7 I6

    This forum has a ton of information on it, and the members have a ton of knowledge. Best think to do with problems is have as much information as possible and lots of picture, we'll all help however we can. Next time you're on the boat take a picture of the data tag on the engine, know what the engine actually is will be a big first step.
