A friend of mine (Joe Boat) is raffling off a 14’ Brockway to raise money for special needs children.

The boat was built in my classroom/shop and finished off by him and generous donations by many in our local marine industry. Pettit paint donating much of the paint and finish materials.

This Friday he is having open house at his shop 1-5pm. Feel free to stop by.

What a wonderful project to do with your students, and donating the money to a kids' charity is a class act! Best of luck!

I know, right? Next they'll be telling you it was built with EPOXY to get your blood pressure even higher. :D

There is a little West System here and there on her. Nothing major.

And some Pettit epoxy fillers and surfacing primers.

A beautiful specimen. If Earl built them like this back in day he would have been out business. He used basic materials and coated the outside with roofing tar, no marine grade anything. For those familiar with his design you had to sink the boat to get it to float the first time on the water, once it swelled up and you pumped it out it was a wonderful boat. As one of the the last American Shad fishermen on the Connecticut River my family utilized Earl’s 18 ft Skow model. A true workhorse on the CT River for many years.

Yes please post info as to where we can buy some tickets to support this. I'm in for sure. I miss my Pickerell skiff so this would fit the bill nicely

I will. Right now Joe is busy moving boats for the boat show next weekend. After that mess calms down I will post info.

Geezzz i have to have that boat. I have a 1975 engine and guts for that motor. The reason is this is what i did with the motor.

Before and after.
With about 195 hours between. Not to mention the Diamond Willow from Alaska and the chart of Mid Coast . IMG_2464 (2).jpg IMG_2881.JPG :)

Bryan - can people mail a check to Joe with a self addressed stamped envelope so he can mail the tickets back ? Or how do people on the forum go about purchasing? I'll be stopping by there soon. Looks nice!
