I am putting this out there as an idea to see what the general interest level is.

Would there be any interest in a DEBF get together here on Nantucket next summer?
We have a good mooring field and anchorage and the boat basin here is a good option some prefer.
I could notify the Mooring company and Boat Basin that there would be a group coming to try and get boats near each other and work on various other things needing organized here if it was to come together.
I have had a lot of people say they would like to come for a visit and have also met quite a few of you that have made the trip in the last few summers. Some seem to think Nantucket is off the edge of the earth. This would be a chance for you to prove to yourself it is not.
I don't want to be tour director but will provide info on things to do and places to see if you were to come. I would think a raft up and barbeque on one night would be doable. Perhaps dinner and drinks at one of the many good restaurants would be preferable to some. We'll see what comes of it.
Sometime between July 15th and August 30th I think would be the range of dates. All of this is TBD.

First step is confirming there would be interest.
If there is some, I will pick a date and we'll see what happens.

    Any interest?

I'd love to make it out there, but it's just too early to tell. This is going to be a shakedown season after a long layup period and we have to see how things go. 2020 for sure!

I would be interested, even if only for a day trip. Raft up BBQ would be fun

I propose organizing boat rides on various different downeast boats. Noon: Duffy 35, 2:00 Calvin Beal etc. Attendence will skyrocket!
Went to Nantucket last year. Beautiful spot at the end of the earth.

Well said Jeff. I am doing the blue water classic Tourney from the 17 thru the 20th. Other than that I am in and it would be a blast. I have been told DE boats are capable of going to the end of the earth so no excuses. I bet it would turn into an annual event and get bigger and bigger each year. Let's go boys! Of course someone is going to have to show up in a young brothers 38 if diesel Jerry is going cross the Maine border.

Man, us Mainers are going to feel left out.

Out of curiosity, is there anywhere to leave a truck and trailer over night for a few nights if we trailered a boat down from Maine? Anywhere on the south side of the cape, Falmouth/Hyannis/Harwich/Chatham?

Hyannis has a ramp. I trailered there several years from Annapolis for the Figawi Race and was always able to find parking for the trailer over the weekend.

I'm positive John Our at Harwich Port Boat Works will let you part overnight. Saquatucket Harbor next door has an awesome boat ramp and its a short distance, about 26 miles or so to Nantucket.

I might be persuaded to show up.

I’ll anchor the Tiara off to the side. Lol. :D

We will be up that way early August. Wasn’t planning Nantucket but maybe.....

Good thinking ElMar - They might need a sacrificial boat to appease the weather Gods, and nothing draws a crowd better than a good boat fire! :D ;) :p Just kidding...........

It will be easy to outrun all the DEs......
