Do to issues at my marina I have lost my slip for the summer, and will be on a mooring until some grounding issues are resolved. This leaves me in need of dinghy/skiff under 11ft for the summer, would prefer a fiberglass rower but willing to look at anything. Doesn't have to be pretty just has to float cheaper the better and preferably in southern Maine/New Hampshire

West Marine sells their classic fiberglass dinghy for $700 bucks and their cat style water tender dinghy for $600. The latter will be more stable getting in and out but will be harder to row. Oars and oarlocks are separate for both.

There are some good options on craiglist. I scooped this one for $100. I wanted one i could fit on my back deck so smaller was better. Its about 7 feet in length. Pretty close to maxed out with my girlfreind, dog and I all in it, at about 350 lbs. threw a $100 minn kota on her, its awesome. We ripped around for close to an hour and only used about 20% of battery.

I've got the same one. Light, I carry it on my back, one person. We row to the mooring and it does well at that. There seems to be many of the ELI Laminates? things around. My brother has one too.

Anyone throw a minn Kota on a walker bay? I’ve thought about rigging something like that up, although rowing seeing to work just fine. rowing the roll up inflatable we keep onboard sucks though. I’ll never forget a customer of mine in the city invited us to his yacht for a drink in montauk and we rolled up rowing the roll up dingy at night and they thought we were like pirates or something lol.

Sucks that you need to register even super low power gas in ny.

The minnkota is awesome. Just connect to a battery and turn the throttle. makes zero sound. can carry in one hand easily, maybe weighs 10 lbs. pushed my setup pretty good, the throttle is labeled 1-5 and keeping it on 3 pushed us at a pretty good speed. I had my mom out there operating it solo.

Emailed on this one with no reply, a few great options out there. Thanks for the help now I just need to find the time for a road trip. Looks like everything I’ve found is at least 2 hours away.

Looks like Ckinneavy is all set. I will post this here and in the classifieds. Top dingy $75 with oars. Bottom one is a Sears skiff, $50 as is needs some work.
