Been two years since we purchased this boat and she's finally starting to look like her old self again. New Cummins 6BTA 330 installed, boom is repaired and installed, new life raft on the roof and swivels rod holders back in the gunnels. It's been a long time but she's finally ready to roll.

She's a 1980 31 BHM that was rebuilt in 2016. Solid glass hull with a nidacore house, deck and gunnels. 2018 Cummins 6BTA 330, 2" shaft, 2.5-1 reduction gear swinging a 26x26 square four blade prop. Cruises at 13 knts tops it around 18 knts.

I always Liked this boat. I remember when she sunk at the dock and was for sale. You're bringing her back to life and she's looking good. Good luck and post pics along the way.

Did Cummins warranty that motor after it went under?

Wow, nice work! Did you keep that massive fish box she used to have? Always loved this boat.

Thanks it's been an interesting journey getting her pissed back together. Hamilton still has the big ice chest down in NC. We have a 1000lb ice chest on her now. Gives us a little more room to move around the deck and pack tuna on ice in the bag.

Yes it was covered under warranty. The Cummins tech left open a water valve causing the submersion when the tide came in. It was the techs fault it happened so it was still covered. Took a year but they stood behind their motor and replaced it with a new one. The dealer sucked to work with but once we talked to Cummins directly and skipped over the shop it was dealt with very quickly. They went above and beyond what they needed to, to get us back up and running. I can't say enough about how good they were to deal with.

That's good information to hear Chad, Dealings don't always have endings like that. Glad it worked out for you.
