Just wondering if there's someplace to go look for used hatches and whatnot. I have a 18' duck boat with a cheap plastic BOMAR hatch thats junk and its like $120 for a new one.

Not really but there are a few used/consignment places around.

    http://www.massmarineparts.com/ - In Quincy, Ma
Marine consignment and supply -In Fall River, Ma
Marine Consignment New England | New & Used Marine Parts -In Wickford RI

Only place I have been to and done business with is the one in Fall River. Guy that runs it might be one of the nicest people I have ever met, the store is an absolute train wreck of stuff everywhere but looks like they are trying to organize it. They have the most random assortment of stuff - worth a poke around on a rainy day. I found fuel and lube oil filters new in box for my Yanmar and they were less than half price but I was 5bucks short on cash, the guy said dont sweat it sold em to me and said just come back and buy something else sometime.

Lots of beat up parts and they price it at 3/4 of a new one - but once pay once

I think the one in Fall River might be the same owner as the one in Wickford.

Been in Wickford a few times. Prices are high, but negotiable. I've passed on several items that were maybe priced at 80% of retail and that's not worth the risk.

At Continental it's the same thing - they go to the West Marine price book and knock off <20%. For what, a beat up Bomar hatch that needs a gasket? You can just go buy a new one for a little more. I know what I'll do.

the Fall River owner is a good guy, very friendly. It's a good place to store/unload your surplus stuff that is not worth posting on CL.

I bought an old teak swim platform from Continental, much cheaper than new, but they don't give stuff away.
