I wear a Stormy Seas hooded jacket with the hydrostatic air bladder. It can be inflated also via tube above the chest pocket. I have worn this same jacket since about 1996 or so when they first came on the market. It is a sort of canvas and fleece combo. Works great for me. I also have and like the Grundeons orange foul weather gear with hydrostatic air bladder, for really rough days. On the rare occasions it is too warm here for a coat or jacket, I use a Mustang hydrostatic vest with a chest harness so I can clip in to a jackline for going forward up on deck. Life vests are worth the money -- if it is something you like enough that you will actually wear it.
