Any information on the Ray Hunt 31 Hull? I know this isn’t a Downeaster but there is so much Marine knowledge here someone has to know something. Google hasn’t produced very much.

Hunt has so many great designs to his credit, just wonder why there isn’t more info out there on them. Maybe because they didn’t build too many? Or they didn’t perform as well as expected?

That’s what I learned Keel in the limited info I was able to find. Found some positive pointed about the Hull, has a good ride and pushed well even with low hp.

I owned a HiLiner 22 for several years, a classic early Hunt design. Predecessor to the Bertrams, I believe.

Only 22 ft, but was (almost ) impossible to bury the bow in nasty stuff. Like Mud said, 24 degree constant deadrise. Incredible boat, it is no wonder why so many Pilot boats are Hunt designs.

Mike of Mike's Marine is the ultimate keeper of H222 knowledge.
Romarine just bought the 222 mold a few months ago and are now turning them out again

This is the famous Ray Hunt hull. Just like the Mopie that won all the LI races made his design so famous. 24 degree deadrise constant not warped deadrise. I had hull # 12 and i know where hull #2 (wood) is. Great design i would go out to the mouth on the shittiest day i could and sit in the trough, point it up and launch of 9 or 10 footers. Mine had a center engine and would come down at a perfect attitude. No pounding. Forgot to add mine was 24 ft.
