OK so I put the boat back in the water and go for a run and all is good except I notice my compass Richie power damp 5 inch dome flush mounted compass is not working , the compass dial is dipped to one side and only moves slightly seems to have enough fluid inside although I did pick up some, Its a $ 375 item on their site so my learned friends what could be the problem/solution ? Thanks

You may have an air bubble under the card. Remove the compass, tip it 90 degrees, and see if a bubble doesn't come out from under the card.

I just had one rebuilt for Merlin and was surprised at how easy and affordable it was.
At the very least I got the feeling they would be happy to talk to you if you have a problem.

    Good luck

I had a Ritchie compass rebuilt a couple of years ago. It was a discontinued model and they were super easy to deal with. It didn’t take long either. They’re somewheres in Massachusetts I think .

i sent my 30 year old compass to ritchie this winter, it worked fint , but cosmetically it was pretty beat, crazing in the dome, coating worn off the flange and green etc...
when i recieved it back i was pretty amazed at the quality and craftsmanship that went into rebuilding it.. for like 250 bucks
    highly reccomended !

They are wonderful to deal with. I had a leak, bought a new seal & fluid. You have to fill it using a syringe. Much to my surprise I was successful - no bubbles, no leaks!
