Just spoke to the owner of the Holland. He just took it from Glen's shop - 2 years in the making. They cut the skeg off completely..and added some small rails (3" x 5') to keep the boat tracking well..works perfectly. Owner has 18 hours on her so far... 32 knots top with the wrong prop...thinks he will get 35knots with it proped right.
That's absolutely moving with just 250hp. The owner has to love that. I'd love to know the fuel burn at a 20-22kt cruise.
you will love this then. he said at around 17kts, we was getting 4 nm per gallon.... he told me this is the first 32 Glen had ever tried as an OB...and he was initially skeptical. ..
That really is incredible, good for the owner. Numbers like that will absolutely draw people towards outboard and away from diesel. I hope he gets a lot of happy hours on it!
I love the H&H but the wide beam can be a problem if someone ever hit me on trailer. So I’m going back to the 26 NB. I’m going to head to ME to see the outdrive Perry is finishing after Thanksgiving. I am also going to talk to Cape Island Boatworks next week to see what he thinks and get a estimate to finish it.Keep you guys posted.
Hi Fiberglass Pete, Just saw this post while hunting around again. Saw your number also. Could I call you when you have time to talk about the Eastern. Thanks John
Some people have asked the weight of my 25 Northern Bay and I was also curious it's listed on their web site at 3900 lbs. Hauled mine the other day and headed down to the truck scale. Hull with bracket and 300 suzuki, about 75 gallons of fuel 2 anchors and 400 ft of rode and basic safety equipment and very little other gear it rolled across the scale at 5420 lbs.
