What is the advantage long vs regular? I'm interested in buying a few. I'll send a PM

 

The longs just give you a bigger area dispersing the weight of the fish. When the dart goes in the fish, and toggles inside the hole, if distributes the weight over a slightly larger dart.

Almost all of the harpoon guys that I know use the long Darts, it is a personal preference, we use the long darts on our boat, so that is what I make.

Thanks guys, I heard back from the Foundry. The new cost per dart will be $13.50 to you guys. If there is more interest I will have more made once I get all these drilled out.

General question: Is it better to sharpen the lead point or not?

 

I only Sharpen the leading 1 inch or so of the dart, the width of a file. Others may sharpen more or less

Straight shaft bore.

 

I use the tapered ones.

 

I used to drill some out for tapered, but fewer and fewer guys were looking for them. It was easier for me to just stick with 1 setup.
